How to use fire hose properly

1. Open the fire cabinet door and take out the fire hose and Nozzle/Branch pipe.

2. Check whether the hose and the joint are in good condition. If it is damaged, it is strictly forbidden to use it.

3. Lay the hose in the direction of the fire place to avoid twisting.

4. Connect the hose to the fire hydrant. When connecting, insert the connecting buckle into the chute accurately and tighten it clockwise.

5. Connect the other end of the hose to the nozzle/branch pipe (the same connection procedure as the fire hydrant)..

6. After the connection is completed, at least 2 people should hold the nozzle/branch pipe tightly and aim at the fire field (Don't point at people, to prevent to hurt people from high-pressure).

7. Slowly open the valve of the fire hydrant to the maximum, and aim at the root of the fire field to put out the fire.

8. When fire hose is coupled, it must be covered with a layer of soft protection, and then fastened with galvanized iron wire or hose hoop.

9. When using a fire hose, the high-pressure fire hose should be connected to a place close to the pump. The water-filled fire hose should be prevented from being twisted or bent suddenly, and the coupling of the fire hose should be prevented from being collided and damaged.

10. When laying fire hoses, to avoid sharp objects and various oil. When laying fire hoses vertically to a high place, use fire hose hooks. When laying fire hoses through traffic arteries, use protecting bridge. When passing the railway, the fire hose should pass under the track to avoid the fire hose being crushed by the wheels.

11. Prevent freezing. In the severe winter season, when the water supply needs to be suspended on the fire site, in order to prevent the fire hose from freezing, the pump needs to run at a slow speed to maintain a small water output.

12. The fire hose should be cleaned after used. The fire hose conveying foam must be carefully washed to protect the lining. In order to remove the grease on the fire hose, it can be washed with warm water or soap. For the frozen fire hose, it should be melted first, and then cleaned and dried. The undried fire hose should not be rolled up and stored.
